At Knack, we help businesses build custom apps and internal tools—without writing code. We’re a no-code platform trusted by thousands of small and mid-sized businesses to create everything from CRMs and client portals to job tracking systems and resource schedulers.

We’re hiring a Growth Manager focused on New User Experience—a highly analytical and product-minded individual who will obsess over how new users interact with Knack from the moment they sign up. This role is about understanding and improving the early customer journey: helping trialers get oriented, take meaningful action, see value, and convert into paying customers.

You’ll be a critical partner to our Head of Product, helping align onboarding strategies with our broader AI product vision. You’ll also work closely with our Customer Experience and Marketing teams to ensure that what we build inside the product reflects and reinforces what we promise externally.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Own the onboarding funnel. Manage the end-to-end experience from signup through activation and conversion. Identify drop-off points and opportunities using quantitative and qualitative data.
  • (Quantitative) Analyze behavior and identify what matters. Use product analytics and tools like Pendo, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or SQL to generate insights. You’ll objectively evaluate what’s working, what’s not, and where we should run our next experiment.
  • (Qualitative) ​​Conduct user interviews to surface insights. Regularly engage with both trialers and recently converted paid users to understand their motivations, blockers, and ‘aha’ moments. You’ll synthesize those learnings to inform onboarding flows, messaging, and future experiments—ensuring we’re solving the right problems for the right users.
  • Turn data into action. Share findings with clarity—what you saw, why it matters, and what we’re doing next. You’ll guide stakeholders with clear recommendations and aligned next steps.
  • Communicate and execute with clarity. Drive alignment across teams through clear written and verbal communication. Collaborate in Slack and virtual meetings, document ideas and product strategies in Confluence (for PRDs), manage work in JIRA (epics, stories), and use Google Docs and Sheets for exploratory analysis and ideation.
  • Leverage AI tools for velocity. Use tools like ChatGPTClaudeManus, and Cursor to prototype ideas, bounce ideas back and forth, summarize data, generate mockups or messaging, and even automate parts of your workflow.
  • Drive onboarding experimentation. Launch and iterate on in-product improvements using A/B testing frameworks, onboarding flows, checklists, and guided tours via tools like Pendo.
  • Coordinate and drive cross-functional progress

    • With Product, Design, and Engineering: Align your onboarding experience feedback / plans / vision  with our evolving AI capabilities.
    • With Customer Experience: Ensure Support and Onboarding teams are integrated into the new user experience you’re driving
    • With Marketing: Match product messaging and tone with what users will actually experience post-signup.

  • 3–6+ years in growth, product, or user experience roles at SaaS or PLG companies.
  • Track record of identifying insights and successfully driving growth through onboarding, activation, and product experimentation.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills—you know how to synthesize data into a clear narrative, bring others along, and make decisions with confidence and clarity.
  • Proficiency with analytics & reporting  tools (Pendo, Hubspot, and Looker, and potentially Amplitude, Mixpanel or Heap) and comfort working directly with SQL to explore trends and validate hypotheses.
  • Experience with in-app guidance and onboarding platforms like Pendo, Intercom, Appcues, or similar.
  • Strong collaborator who can influence cross-functional teams and balance input from product, support, and marketing.
  • Bonus points for:

    • Familiarity with no-code platforms like Knack, Airtable, Glide, or Softr
    • Experience working in startups or lean teams
    • Prior success driving trial conversion improvements
    • Interest in or experience using AI tooling to support productivity, insight generation, & UX
