Position Summary
We are seeking an Ubuntu Pro Sales Engineer to assist global companies in adopting the latest Linux and open source applications. This role involves applying expert insights to solve real-world customer problems, facilitating the enterprise adoption of Ubuntu Pro, OpenStack, Canonical Microcloud, Kubernetes, and related technologies. Ideal candidates are software engineers who enjoy engaging with customers and addressing challenges during the presales cycle. Ubuntu is utilized by enterprises worldwide across all industries, making this role an excellent opportunity to learn about the open source technology landscape and develop business technology insights. This role is part of our global Field Engineering team and collaborates closely with enterprise sales leads.

Location: Most colleagues work remotely. We are expanding teams in EMEA, Americas, and APAC time zones, accommodating candidates from nearly any country.

What Your Day Will Look Like
The Ubuntu Pro Sales Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving the adoption of Ubuntu Pro among our extensive enterprise user base.

Collect customer business requirements: Advise on Ubuntu and relevant open source applications.
Identify customer challenges: Articulate how Ubuntu Pro can address these challenges.
Deliver presentations and demonstrations: Showcase Ubuntu Pro to prospective and current clients.
Liaise with product teams: Provide feedback to influence the product roadmap.
Collaborate with sales teams: Work together to achieve common targets.
Travel: Up to 25% for internal and external events, and an additional 25% for customer meetings.

Technical Background: Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling alternative narrative.

Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and spoken English, with strong presentation skills.
Linux Experience: Preferably with Debian or Ubuntu.
