About the Duolingo English Test (DET)

The Duolingo English Test is an alternative to traditional high-stakes testing — through a Duolingo-style experience: convenient, fast, and affordable. Students interested in studying abroad can certify their English with the Duolingo English Test instead of other standardized tests like the TOEFL and IELTS. About the Role

To grow adoption of the Duolingo English Test (DET), we partner with tens of thousands of institutions and agencies around the world – the majority of which are small in size. Our goal is to influence these partners to recommend the DET to their students, but in a way that is scalable and doesn’t require building a large sales team.

To do this, we’re building an automated, tech-driven partners funnel that allows us to onboard and activate partners at scale, guiding them from awareness through to student referrals – all with minimal manual intervention. Your role will be to help us build out this funnel.

Key Responsibilities

Funnel Mapping

  • Map and document the full agent referral funnel — from lead → registration → qualification → onboarding → referral
  • Identify drop-offs for each stage

Optimization & Experiments

  • Spot friction points and recommend changes to improve conversion
  • Partner with product/eng/design teams to test new flows or incentive models
  • Run experiments (e.g. A/B tests), track impact, and iterate based on data
  • Explore ways to scale agent engagement using AI-enabled tools (e.g. Clay, Instantly)

Strategic Expansion

  • Propose how this funnel infrastructure could apply to other B2B use cases (e.g. workforce or B2B learning partnerships)
  • Surface insights that inform how we engage new buyer segments
  • Collaborate with BD, GTM, and product teams to shape future-facing B2B systems

Requirements for the role

  • This role is 60% Business & Strategy, 20% Technical / Product Collaboration, 20% Marketing & Lifecycle
  • Familiar with CRM’s (e.g. Hubspot) and CRM workflows
  • Prior product, strategy experience is a plus
  • Ideally startup BD or growth background
  • Interested in the latest AI tools and willing to experiment to see what makes sense for our use case
  • Enjoy building structured systems and being able to go deep on data, but thinking in human journeys

This is a remote-friendly contract position that will require approximately 40 hours per week.
