Job Description

The Sports Market is building the future of peer-to-peer sports trading, and we are doing it on real distributed ledger infrastructure, not buzzwords. Our exchange is powered by Digital Asset’s DAML and deployed on institutional-grade blockchain rails, which means every engineer on our team is contributing to one of the most advanced and consequential market platforms in the world.

We are looking for a software engineer who is excited by hard problems, fast cycles, and building a mission-critical system. If you thrive in a product-driven, startup-paced environment and want your work to directly shape how the next generation of sports liquidity is created, matched, and settled, this is the team you want to be on.

You will work across functional programming, distributed systems, and high-availability architectures to deliver secure, scalable components that power a financial-grade marketplace. This role is for someone who wants ownership, expects their code to be held to a high standard, and enjoys solving problems that do not come with a template.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality and well-tested code efficiently and at pace, working with Digital Asset’s unique functional programming language, DAML.
  • Contribute to the development of cutting-edge distributed ledger technology innovations that will be deployed with one of the world’s most consequential market infrastructures.
  • Develop and refine feature specifications and deliver high-quality software components and end user experiences within an Agile development environment.

Key Criteria

  • Ideally, 5+ years experience as a software engineer, working in a globally distributed development environment.
  • Proven history of delivering high-quality, increasingly complex, highly available and scalable distributed systems, using Agile methodologies.
  • Enjoys working in a start up like atmosphere with a product focused mindset, building products from scratch and translating requirements
  • Excellent programming skills and experience in at least one modern and/or functional programming language on the JVM including, but not limited to, Java 8+, Scala, Kotlin, Haskell, Go, C++
  • Strong programming fundamentals (data structures and algorithms).
  • Self aware and thrives on continuous learning.
  • Strong command of distributed systems development.
  • Deep understanding of secure coding practices.
  • Experience developing software targeting Linux and Windows environments, including an adept ability to incorporate open source software as appropriate.
  • Courage of convictions with a high degree of humility. Embraces constructive feedback and is resilient.
  • BS, MS or PhD in computer science, or related discipline.
