Opportunity
As a Software Development Engineer II at Hiver, you will play a crucial role in building and scaling our product for thousands of users globally. We process over 5 million emails daily for our active users on the Hiver platform. You will work with and mentor a talented group of engineers, while also learning and growing under the guidance of experienced mentors.
You will tackle complex technical challenges, such as making our architecture scalable to handle increasing traffic, building frameworks to monitor and improve system performance, and enhancing reliability and performance. You will be involved in coding, designing, developing, and maintaining new product features, as well as improving existing services for performance and scalability.
What You Will Be Working On
Own the complete product lifecycle, from conceptualizing the right product features for customers, system improvements, and addressing technical debt to deciding the technical approach, estimating work and effort, and forming the release strategy.
Ensure code quality at Hiver by extensively participating in code reviews across multiple projects.
Coach junior engineers with code comments, documents, and presentations, promoting the best coding and testing practices across the team.
Assess and accurately estimate the expected time of arrival (ETA) for large and complex projects, working with a team to meet these timelines with high confidence.
Engage in brainstorming sessions to thoroughly understand problems, craft innovative solutions through thoughtful design, develop the system with precision, and oversee a successful release.
Instrument and troubleshoot distributed systems.
What We Are Looking For
A minimum of 3.5 years of professional experience as a backend developer in Python or other backend scripting languages (Node.js, PHP, Ruby).
