Job Description
At Deimos, we’re on a mission to become Africa’s number one multi-cloud partner — leading the way in implementation, migration, and modernisation across AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Huawei, et al. We combine this with bespoke software engineering services and our own homegrown products (Salus, Patrol, and others in incubation) to help businesses transform, scale, and thrive.
We’re moving from selling mainly engineering capacity to building deep, high-value partnerships that drive recurring revenue. To make this pivot stick, we’re looking for a Head of Sales Operations & Growth — someone who’s ready to roll up their sleeves, make an immediate impact, and build the kind of sales engine that becomes a competitive advantage in our market.
Role Overview
We’re building a product that makes a real-world impact in community safety, and we’re looking for a UX Designer who can bring structure, clarity, and usability to complex, evolving ideas. If you’re someone who enjoys turning messy, early-stage feature ideas into user-centered wireframes and flows — we’d love to talk.
This isn’t a visual design role — we have a UI designer (and a component library) for that. Your superpower is structure: you know how to design flows that just make sense, even when you’re starting with imperfect inputs.
What You’ll Do
- Translate user stories and rough product concepts into clear, intuitive wireframes and flow diagrams
- Collaborate closely with the Product Owner and UI Designer to shape features and UX logic
- Work with developers to co-create edge cases and flow logic — you’ll help shape the way features work
- Apply usability heuristics, accessibility standards, and common-sense UX thinking to everything you design
- Use and evolve our component library, working with the UI designer to propose improvements
- Communicate your design logic clearly and collaborate well with cross-functional teams
What We’re Looking For
- 3–6 years of UX experience, ideally in fast-paced, product-led environments
- Strong wireframing skills using tools like Figma (or equivalent)
- A deep understanding of usability principles and heuristic evaluation (You’ve probably read Don’t Make Me Think — and maybe even Form Design Patterns or “Drop-downs: the UI of last resort”)
- Sharp interaction design instincts — you know when to use a dropdown vs. radio buttons, how to minimize cognitive load, and how to structure choices clearly for real-world users
- Ability to work from ambiguity — you don’t need polished feature specs to start designing
- Experience working alongside devs and product managers in agile or iterative delivery teams
- A portfolio that shows how you think — not just pretty screens, but strong logic and structure
Why Join Us?
- We’re building something with purpose — a tool that improves real lives
- You’ll work closely with the CEO and have strong influence over product UX direction
- Flexible work setup — remote, hybrid, or in-person as you prefer
- Work with a UI designer and development team that values thoughtful UX
- Help shape not just the product, but the design culture as we grow
What We Offer:
- Remote work environment, offering flexibility and work-life balance.
- Opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and cloud technologies.
- A forward thinking remote company that knows how important it is to stay connected as one team, by providing virtual social platforms for employee engagement.
- A collaborative and supportive team culture.
- Continuous professional development opportunities.
- A monthly work from home allowance which you can use to set yourself up to work comfortably from home. Whether that is pens, notebooks, or new headphones.
- A MacBook or Windows laptop for you to do your best work on.
- Become part of a team of exceptionally clever and talented people who like to share their knowledge and learnings.
- We support your career growth and love to celebrate your successes and advancement!
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
