An innovative fintech organisation bridging global travel platforms with African banking ecosystems is seeking a meticulous Financial Administrator. This role is essential for ensuring smooth operational flow between international travel platforms and local financial systems. This is a 10-hour-per-week position ideal for a process-oriented professional who enjoys the intersection of traditional banking and modern payment technology.
As a key support to the finance function, you will handle the vital administrative groundwork required to move money across borders efficiently, affordably, and compliantly.
Key Responsibilities
- Banking Administration: Manage the end-to-end process of opening and maintaining local and international bank accounts, ensuring all documentation meets strict compliance standards.
- Financial Data Management: Maintain accurate records of transactions and financial activities using Google Sheets and Excel.
- Compliance Support: Collate and organise FICA/KYC documentation required for banking and regulatory audits.
- Reporting & Reconciliation: Assist in tracking fund movements and providing updates on account statuses to the finance team.
- General Finance Admin: Support the broader finance department with ad-hoc administrative tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience in financial administration or a banking-related support role.
- Deep familiarity with the South African and/or African banking environment and the requirements for opening corporate accounts.
- High level of proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, and tracking).
- Exceptional attention to detail, particularly regarding regulatory documentation and financial data.
- Ability to work independently and manage a 10-hour weekly workload with high reliability.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a fintech, payments, or travel-tech environment.
- Knowledge of cross-border payment regulations and exchange control basics.
